        A long term walk with Jesus

Jesus Christ 

Jesus was born to a Jewish couple, Mary and Joseph.

Jesus grew up in  Palestine (Israel, Palestine, and Jordan today). 

At about age 30
Jesus began traveling and teaching. 

Jesus chose twelve men who became known as the disciples. Women and men gathered to learn and give support. 

After about three years
Jesus was arrested. His teachings and life style offended the authorities.

Jesus was
tortured and executed. 

Jesus' followers found him to be alive after death. 

Communities of
Jesus' disciples came to be known as the 
Christian Church, a present day global community of faith.

............. dying figure on a cross by the roadside.
............. heroic conqueror over evil and death.
............. common traveler  to people walking the road of life.
............. liberator of the oppressed.
............. baby in a barn manger along with Mary and Joseph.
............. the beloved One. 
............. person of insight respected by many Jewish people.
............. prophet respected by Hindus, Muslims, and others.
............. extreme spiritual pioneer.
............. explorer of the far reaches of the creation and beyond.
............. companion in torture with all who are treated violently.
............. cool figure in popular culture of 2007

The Lord's Prayer is the most widely known prayer for Christians. It was given by Jesus as a guide for believers to use in their prayers. 

The Apostles Creed is one historic statement of belief about Jesus that has stood the test of time and continues to guide and inspire believers. 

The Nicene Creed was created to sharpen the vision of what Jesus was about and continues to challenge thought and imagination.

"A Portrait of Jesus" is one present day North American perspective on the life of Jesus.  

Many Christian give honor and respect to Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Her dignity, leadership, and devotion  is seen as a model for women. Mary is a source of compassion and comfort for many. Her persistent love for Jesus is seen as a spiritual virtue that sets her apart from other people. Mary the Mother of Jesus is a Catholic web introduction to Mary.
